6010

Descriptions
Deep arc penetrating electrode with high cellulose Sodium type coating. There is a light slag and the rod performs well in the vertical and overhead positions

Characteristics
The intense arc allows L-joints of up to 8mm to be welded in vertical down without difficulty.

Applications
Suitable for use in pipeline and storage tank construction. The electrode is designed for root and filler welds in pipelines. Weld galvanised and specially coated steels.

Redrying
Should electrodes become moist re-dry at 110° C for 30 minutes.

6011

Applications
6011 is used primarily with ac power sources but can be used with dc currents. It has a stable arc with low spatter levels 6011 is an excellent choice for shipbuilding and structural work, general purpose fabrication, galvanized steel work and rail cars.

Procedures
Avoid excessive amperage and use AC or DC straight polarity. Maintain a short arc and use stringer bead technique. Light gauge material may be contact welded. Slag removed with minimal impact on the area surrounding the weld.

Redrying
If moist re-dry at 90deg C for a half hour.

6013

Descriptions
Specially formulated medium – heavy coated mild steel electrode. Can be welded in all positions, with a wide amperage range. Ideal for joining and surfacing mild steel in adverse and restrictive conditions.

Characteristics
Heavy coating gives a quality finish. Ignition and re-ignition of the arc is excellent and spatter is minimal. Any slag is easily removed.

Applications
Used mainly in the maintenance field where repairs have to done quickly under adverse conditions. It allows for a good quality weld on dirty steel without contaminating the parent or filler material. Ideal for repairs to cracked pipelines, boilers and where quality welds are required in fabrication.

Procedures
Light Gauge Material: Maintain a short arc at low amperage. Use contact weld with stringer beads and do not weave. Heavy Gauge/ contaminated material: Use the upper limit amperages.

Redrying
Should electrodes become moist redry at 120° C for 1 hour
